The Trichotillomania Relief Specialists (TRS) provide cutting edge services and support for sufferers of Trichotillomania or hair-pulling disorder and other Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs) worldwide. The specialists provide one-on-one coaching or web based video conferencing to help treat those with the disorder. Each program is tailored to the individual, because no two Trich sufferers are the same and what works for one may not work for another. The Trich-Free Solution treatment provided by TRS shows sufferers how to unlock their own innate ability to easily and naturally control not only the pulling but the urge to pull.

About the founders of TRS

Robert and Glei Mantell founded the treatment program and have treated many sufferrs through their coaching and audio books. The Mantells are professionally certified by the American Board of Neuro-Linguistic Progamming (NLP), the International Institute for Humanistic Neuro-Linguistic Psychology and the American Board of Hypnotherapy as Master Practitioners and Trainers of NLP and Hypnosis. NLP is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy that promotes the understanding of how verbal and non-verbal communication affect the human brain. As such it presents us all with the opportunity to not only communicate better with others, but also learn how to gain more control over what we considered to be automatic functions of our own neurology. NLP practitioners are experts in what drives human behavior and since most pulling occurs subconsciously, the TRS treatment addresses the disorder on an unconscious level. The treatment is drug-free and is entirely unlike conventional medical or psychotherapeutic methods.

Robert addresses the question, "why do I pull?”

The most common reasons and feelings people site for pulling are: stress, pressure, feeling overwhelmed, boredom, monotony, tedium, frustration or feeling upset. These feelings usually cause sufferers of trich to feel uncomfortable and pulling is their only way to feel better.

The TRS program teaches clients that we do everything for a reason or to satisfy a need and this applies to good or bad behavior. The program aims to help the client identify where and when they feel tension to pull and how to make themselves feel better without resorting to pulling, eventually teaching them how to control pulling.

Once they can identify what upsets them; when they get upset and what happens when they start pulling, they are able to understand what happens to their state when they start pulling and what they are seeking relief or release from.
