a short video explaining about the program (you might want to turn volume down for privacy)
Evidence Based Therapy That Works
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is the most effective method to date, to treat Trichotillomania. It is the method of choice that is primarily used by expert therapists worldwide, who specialize in treating this disorder.
Get the Professional Guidance You Need
Your case is unique – you have your own specific symptoms and needs – and it’s important to personalize treatment. That’s why you will get a personal therapist, who will lead you through the program, and give you support every step of the way. All our therapists are qualified professionals, certified by the TLC foundation for BFRBs, specializing in treating Trichotillomania and related disorders, and experienced in using CBT for treatment.
Maintain Your Privacy
The program takes place 100% online, which means you can participate from the privacy of your own home, without the need to visit a therapist’s office. Communication with therapist is text based, via secure worksheets – which particularly fits people who don't like the idea of opening up to a therapist, face to face.
Affordable - a Fraction of the Cost of Traditional Face-to-Face Therapy
One of the main reasons we developed this program is to help those who cannot afford traditional face to face therapy. Indeed, full access to the program with your own qualified therapist costs what you would pay for about 2 hours of traditional face-to-face therapy. Moreover, studies show that online therapy based on CBT is at least as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy.
Access Anytime , from Anywhere , on Any Device
It’s a 100% online program, which means you can participate from anywhere, anytime. There’s no need to schedule sessions, or travel to therapists’ office, which will save you time. You can access the program from any device (PC/MAC, smartphones, iPad etc).
You’re in Safe hands
Your privacy is our top priority. This is why special care is taken to secure your information. You are of course guarded by therapist-client privilege (which is a confidentiality agreement, meaning that nothing you share will be disclosed by the therapist to any third party).
What Clients Say
There are a lot of practical tips which I find very useful when dealing with my disorder. But the best part is of course being able to discuss my issues with the therapist. I don't think I would've gained as much as I did if it wasn't for her. She's so compassionate and professional, and I'm discussing many other issues with her (some are directly related to my disorder, others are totally unrelated). Bottom line is that my life got better since I started the progarm. And I certainly recommend it to anyone who is looking for help.
It is great to be able to do from home. Weekly sessions are a good idea, give enough time for the last session to get assimilated. Each week has enough covered, to think about and try out, but not too much, so that it is doable. I would suggest this program as a good learning environment to anyone who wants to understand and change their compulsive behaviors.
It's an approachable program and its targeted so deeply at what lies beneath the behavior patterns. I hadn't wanted to look within and it's all about that and resetting the mind, body and soul to see there is another, healthy way to cope. I'm glad I completed the program when I did.
I felt myself adjusting as the program progressed. I have seen and noticed a difference in my urges and behavior now as a result. It's been such an eye opening experience in so many ways.
The program has been and continues to be helpful. It gave me the means to new and deeper insight into my own life through this insidious disorder or habit or whatever one wishes to call it. I thought I knew it all and had tried everything, but I was incorrect. The program brought the shame, guilt, frustration, hopelessness from darkness into the light to be examined in the context of not being alone. I would and will reccommend it to anyone struggling with this disorder.

How Does it Work? Sessions, Worksheets and Self Monitoring.
The TrichStop program is comprised of 8 sessions. Each session takes on average about an hour to complete. We recommend completing not more than one session per week, in order to let the material set in, and to practice what you’ve learned.
Between sessions you will communicate with your assigned therapist via specially designed worksheets. Communication via the worksheets is text based and secure. In these worksheets you will discuss with your therapists topics that were covered in the last session, as well as your progress and any specific difficulties you might have.
Throughout the program, and especially during the first few sessions, you will be instructed to use the self-monitoring App to document your behaviors. This will allow you to become more aware of your pulling, to recognize patterns in your behavior, and to provide a more comprehensive view of your case to your therapist

Latest Client Reviews
When I joined the program I was very skeptical, but I decided to give it a go. After the 3rd week I had already noticed huge improvements and that kept me motivated to carry on. The techniques I learnt in the first 4 sessions were enough to stop the pulling, but the further sessions opened up a new way of living that it's helping me with other problems in my life. I would happily recommend the therapy to anyone suffering from a repetitive compulsive behavior.
I am very grateful for this program. I do not live near a Trich trained therapist. So it was wonderful to be able to share my thoughts and attempts to grow with someone who was familiar with this and could help guide my own healing journey. I would definitely recommend it to someone else with Trich. My therapist was kind, warm, thoughtful, and I was surprised how she responded within a weekday of me writing a worksheet entry. If I asked for further clarification, she would respond to this as well. I am very grateful that this Trichstop exists.
In a nutshell, yes, the program was very beneficial. I had not realized how many negative messages I was believing about myself, and I didn't know how to handle the guilt and pressure I lived with. I also didn't realize how directly those negative messages fed my picking and pulling compulsions. I would recommend the program to anyone who needs help with Trichotillomania.
The program was very beneficial and I have been pull free predominantly since I started. [...] Also I am in a Facebook support group and have suggested friends with similar or worse behavior issues to consider TrichStop. The confidentiality, professionalism and reasonable out of pocket rate & option make it very available to most people to get help.
