My 10 year old daughter has been dealing with trich for about 1.5 yr. We have tried everything. Counciling, bandaids on her fingers, every "fidget" toy you can imagine, dolls/stuffed animals to mimic pulling HER hair, trich related books, a habit aware bracelet.......Nothing has stuck. She will stop for a week, then it's right back to pulling. She doesn't pull the hair on her scalp, only her eyebrows and eyelashes. I have read a little bit about biofeedback and asked her counciler what she thought. She didn't know much about it either but referred me to a specialist that participates in NEUROfeedback. They haven't treated anyone with trich before but my daughter also experiences anxiety and has a very difficult time dealing with change etc.
My question is: Has anyone ever used neurofeedback for the treatment of trich? If so, what are your thoughts?
Thank you so much for any help!
