My Story

Hey everyone. I’ve never joined a forum before so I’m not really sure how this goes...welp here it is:

I’ve been pulling my eyelashes and eyebrows since I was about 8 or so. I’m 15 at the moment. In the first few years it was barely anything to notice, but I remember my mom saying something to me when I was younger and that’s how I remember. Anyways, for the last couple years whenever I feel stressed, that impulse comes out. I naturally have thick eyebrows and eyelashes, so it’s not surprisingly noticeable. You can definitely see bald patches in my eyebrows, and sometimes there are sparse patches in my eyelashes. I’ve tried to stop so many times, but the impulse is too strong. Sometimes stress balls and plucking a hair tie around my wrist work, but only temporarily. Does anyone have any advice for me? I could really use it! I’ve never known anyone that shares the same problem as me, so it feels great to finally share it.

If you’ve read this far, thank you!!

I've recently joined this site because I've been pulling out my hair for awhile now. I'm fifteen as well and I feel extremely self-conscious whenever I tie my hair up in a ponytail because you can see some minor bald spots. I don't really have thick hair but it's frizzy. The only tip that I have to offer that has worked for me is I braid my hair. I think when my hair is in a braid, I don't want to pull out my hair as much because it'll ruin the braid. Adding onto that, the braid keeps my hair out of my face so I won't feel the urge to pull as much. I hope this helped! c:
