Thick vs Thin vs Roots

I'm not sure if anyone else does this and I'm really just looking for some proof that I'm not crazy . . . When im picking, I often feel individual hairs and only pull thick/bumpy hairs. When I've chosen a particular hair, I'll kinda wiggle/tug on it to get it out with the root. Does anyone else do this??? I'm not sure if I'm damaging my scalp/hair even more by doing this and I am worried that this could have devastating long term effects.

You aren’t crazy. I do the same thing, minus the bulb. You probably aren’t doing your hair/scalp any favors by pulling it out... but none of us are.

I only pull my eyelashes, but whenever pulling I only care to pull out the ones that stand out the most and are different than the rest. Most of the time, it’s course/thick eyelashes. Unfortunately, eyelashes that grow back in tend to be very thick.

I promise you are not crazy !!

I do this too. Been at it so long I now have white hair coming in. I guess I'm not sure the white is from pulling but it is definitely concentrated in the areas I pull from. The white ones have an even bumpier texture and I go for those more. Naturally curly hair isn't a good thing when you go for texture. Mine is that and I struggle if I touch my hair at all.
