I was cured instantly. Please try this.

After a year of pulling, I was cured yesterday instantly with this hypnotherapy. I hope it can help you too. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I cannot believe the cure was so simple. More people need to know about this. Please let me know your results -- I'd love to hear if it works or does not work for others. And please spread the word if you can. :) It is $12, but so worth it. If you have trouble with the cost please contact me. I was also fascinated by a post I saw on another forum that said vitamin D supplements (quite a large amount) helped them. Multiple people had replied saying that it cured them too, and they had their vitamin D levels tested were indeed deficient. I haven't tried this, and may not have to, since I haven't pulled since my hypnotherapy, but it is interesting to me. I truly hope one of these methods can help you. Know that you are not alone in this terrible disease. One other thing I have heard that works is NAC (N-acetyl-cysteine) which is an over the counter antioxidant. I tried that and it did not work for me, but I've heard some success stories. Also naltrexone, but a prescription is needed for that. Everyone is different, though. And one thing won't work for everyone, but something will work for everyone, including you. :)

My daughter just developed trichotillomania within the past 3 months. She has no eyebrows and she's now pulling out her eyelashes. I just saw your post and I immediately purchased the hypnotherapy download. I intend to have her start immediately. I hope it will help her.

JennaD918, did it help your daughter?
I bought the mp3m but I'm afraid to have my daughter listen to it as it talks about pulling eyelashes and eyebrows and she only pulls her hair on her head. I don't want her to start pulling other hairs?

Hi curedpuller, thank you for sharing! I will check out your link and may we can do a post about it on our blog. AS for the NAC, absolutely it has been shown to help some people, but as you say everyone is different so while hypnotherapy might work for you, medication might help for someone else, while others prefer just meditation and mindfulness. The important thing is not to give up in finding a solution that works for you.

Catherine020 and JennaD918, how old are your daughters. I recognize it is especially frustrating as parents because there is not a lot of treatment options available for the younger pullers. It frustrates us therapists too as there really is a lack of research to go on. I would say that trying the hypnotherapy can be a good idea but if your daughter is very young iot is always best to try new therapies under the guidance of a health professional even if just a local doctor or nurse.

Best of luck to your both!

Hi Tasmeen
My daughter is 10.
I haven't tried the video yet as it asks people to visualize themselves pulling eyebrows and eyelashes. She doesn't do that. She just pulls her scalp hair. I was afraid it might suggest this to her and get her to start pulling those too. Do you have any thoughts?

Hi. There is always a possibility that it can trigger pulling in other places, particularly as she is still so young. I would therefore caution against use of this technique UNLESS carried out under the guidance of a trained hypnotherapist or psychologist. I find that with such young clients, competing responses such as fidgets and fiddles combined with some sort of awareness device and a reward system has a positive effect. There is a device called the Slightly Robot and in the new year another one is being launched called HabitAware, it may be worth checking out. In young children there is also the possibility of it being linked to sensory processing. You could consider taking her to see an occupational therapist who specializes in sensory integration. Best of luck!

Catherine 020 and Tasneem - my daughter just turned 9 and unfortunately the hypnotherapy is not working. She has been listening to it almost every night since 10/2/16 and it hasn't helped. She has calmed down with the eyebrow pulling, she has virtually no eyelashes to pull and she has now begun to pull out her hair. The poor girl has 2 bald spots already. I've tried fidget toys but she loses them... I'm going to contact a few therapists tomorrow.
